Purifying

Head to the tile aisles of your home super center and pick out a grout that will match your tiles. If you have an extra tile lying around, take that with you, or take a digital photo if you can. Otherwise, just keep the color in mind, and note the size of the space between the tiles. Ask the title aisle attendant for help deciding between sanded and unsanded – if you have marble tile or a small grout line (under 1/8th inch), then you'll want unsanded grout, otherwise go for sanded.

You’ll need:
1.Grout
2.Grout saw
3.Bucket
4.Grout sponge
5.Protective gloves
6.Sealant

( Grout is a construction material used to embed rebars in masonry walls, connect sections of pre-cast concrete, fill voids, and seal joints (like those between tiles). Grout is generally composed of a mixture of water, cement, sand and sometimes fine gravel (if it is being used to fill the cores of cement blocks). Sometimes color tint is applied as a thick liquid and hardens over time, much like mortar.
It is also a component of mosaics. Although ungrouted mosaics do exist, most have grout between the tesserae.
Main varieties include: tiling grout (either urethane, cement-based or epoxy), flooring grout, resin grout, non-shrink grout and thixotropic grout.
There are a few tools associated with applying and removal of grout such as:
1. Grout saw or grout scraper; a manual tool for removal of old and discolored grout. The blade is usually composed of tungsten carbide.
2. Grout float; A blade-like tool for smoothing the surface of a grout line
grout sealer is a water-based sealant applied over dried grout that resists water, oil and acid-based contaminants.
3. Dremel grout attachment; an attachment guide placed over a Dremel rotary tool for faster removal of old grout than a standard grout saw.
4. Grout sponge : like any other type of ordiary sponge.
)

1. Pick your grout

Head to your home super center and pick out a grout that will match your tiles.

2. De-gunk
The hardest part of this job is removing all the old, icky grout. It's basically cement, so you're going to have to apply some elbow grease to dig into all the grooves and chunk out the gunk. It's going to be a messy job and it will be tiring, especially if you're doing the whole bathroom rather than just the tub area. If your grout's not in terrible shape, you can just clean it with a chemical cleaner before re-grouting.

3. Mix it up
Mixing grout is like mixing up a batch of Betty Crocker, so don't be afraid. Just follow the directions on the box. Just like with baking, you'll know when your batter is too thick or too thin, and you adjust almost the same way – by adding either more water or more powder. And don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, but you might want to put on the gloves for this stage.

4. Apply it
Take your special grout sponge and start to plug it into the grout lines. The grout will just glide into place, but some of it will run over onto the tiles. You'll wipe this up later, so don't worry about it too much. When everything is filled, wet your finger and smooth the lines. Then wipe up the tiles with a sponge or a rag. If you disturb any of the grout, just apply a little more and let it dry. Translation: don't take a shower. Let it stand for as long as the box says so.

5. Spot check
When the grout is set, check for any gaps or cracks – sometimes in a new light you can see things you missed before. If everything is ok, apply the sealer. It just wipes on, and all you have to do is follow the directions on the bottle. Also let that dry for as long as the manufacturer says so. When you're all set, you'll be able to pretend you're taking a spa vacation by using a luxurious new bathroom.

Colouring

You know, we love browsing paint websites like behr.com and benjaminmoore.com to see what jumps out. Other areas of inspiration: your closets. Look at the clothes you love versus the ones that get passed over. Then start flipping through catalogs (even the ones you normally toss) and tear out pages with colors you love. Take (or wear) these pieces of inspiration to a paint retailer; have them match the color or find color combos that coordinate.

Before you buy samples, keep in mind the lighting and size of your room (a chocolate wall in a darkly lit living room might be more moody than trendy); the feel of the room (do you want lively or relaxing?); the surrounding rooms (will this paint coordinate with the adjacent spaces?); and your furniture (how will it work with the red couch?).

Decoration

Self Adhesive Wall Decals

What You'll Need:
1.Set of decals (we like velocityartanddesign.com)
2.Dry cloth

Directions:
1. Find the wall that you think needs a facelift. (A smooth surface works best, so avoid stucco.)
2. Sweep the spot with a dry cloth to make sure you are working with a totally dust-free and clean area.
3. These decals are a cinch and work like temporary tattoos so simply peel and adhere the birds on the walls.
4. Don't stress it if you don't like where they've landed, these birds are reusable.

Note: Be sure to read all directions. Some decals are one time use only.

3-D Wall Applications

What you'll need:
1.Drycloth
2.Set of wall applications (we like the white hexagons at wallter.com)
3.Tape measure or ruler
4.Level
5.White paper
6.Pencil
7.Tape
8.Spray paint (we chose black)

Directions:
1. We spray painted half of our applicants in black to mix for a mod look to the white.
2. Select a smooth surface that you think could use a little added texture. Once decided, wipe down the wall with your cloth so that it is completely clean and dry.
3. Measure the space you'll be covering.
4. Since these applications are not reusable, you'll want to take time and care for picking the spot and the pattern.
5. We suggest laying the applications on a piece of white paper on a flat surface. Trace the shapes with pencil, cut them out, and then hang them in the intended spots on the wall. This way you experiment with how different shapes, sizes and color combos will work together.
6. Once ready, peel the adhesive from the back of the applicants and stick on wall.

Stretched Fabric

What You'll Need:
1.12 stretchers (4 per canvas)
2.3 pieces of fabric
3.staple gun
4.iron
5.scissors

You can purchased a complete kit at Textile Arts that comes with stretchers and fabric txtlart.com

Directions:
1. Iron your fabric pieces and set aside.
2. Take 4 of the 16' stretchers and create the frame by linking them together. They fit like a puzzle.
3. Lay framework on top of the fabric, with the design facing down.
4. Begin stapling. Start in the center on any side and use about 3 staples (2 inches apart) in each direction.
5. Pull the fabric, making it as taut as possible. Move to the opposite edge. Repeat for all sides.
6. Fold at the corners and staple one on top of the other. Cut off extra fabric.
7. Repeat for smaller frames. Hang together.

Beautifying. For Flowers

1. Single sensations. Instead of placing mixed bouquets around your house, group two or three vases in the same room, each with one type of flower. And use different-size bud vases to add variety and really make the scene pop. The consistency of these vignettes adds an element of coziness and personality to any space. Hint: Don't cram multiple stems into a vase. A single flower, like a tulip, rose, or poppy, often commands more attention.

2. Potted genius. Utilize potted flowering plants en masse. Put five little containers of pansies on a windowsill, or place primroses in a single large basket. These displays are inviting and reflect one of our favorite seasons -- spring.

3. Old-school beauty. Banish your inner flower snob (we all have one), and revisit the carnations and baby's breath that are often snubbed as being generic. When used alone (and not as floral filler), they are gorgeous and cost-efficient. Baby's breath can be transformed into fluffy, dream-like clouds of white, and look best in tall, skinny vases (done in the picture above). Mounds of carnations become lush carpets of color when arranged in bulk. Try 20 or more blossoms cut short enough so that just the buds sit atop the vase. Trust us -- it's gorgi!

4. Fancy fruit. While grocery shopping, skip the floral section and take a walk down the produce aisle, where you can stock up on seasonal fruit. Bring them home -- resist the urge for fruit salad -- and artistically arrange them in glass bowls or large vases for a bright and modern display.
In spring, look for lemons and limes; in summer, try peaches and strawberries while they're in season; in the fall, display a single or multi-colored grouping of apples; and during winter months, stockpile tropical fruits to brighten your mood and remind you of warmer days.

5. Wicks a plenty. Treat candles like bouquets of flowers and fill your home with groupings of them in varying heights, widths, and colors. Just make sure you avoid strong scents (the same with flowers) if you're serving food. You don't want to overpower the meal.

6. Season pass. Each season yields items to add to your arrangements. In winter, mix pomegranates with bowls of pinecones and nuts (with their shells still on). For spring, potted bulbs will last longer than cut-flower arrangements. Summer's sunflowers and dahlias are less expensive if purchased from a farm stand rather than a store. And in fall, arrange pumpkins and gourds to reflect the vibrant foliage that surrounds you.

Lol. well then.. i actually tried the flowers arrangement for beautifying my dining table. haha. it works wonder. i have not got down to trying the wall paper decoration yet. but im sure it will be looking great. come on ! dun be shy. give it a try and let me know... of cos write it in the orange box.. if not how will i know ? haha. cheers to everyone :D:D
